Henshaws Roofing & Building Supplies have been supplying roofing & building materials in the Greater Manchester area for 36 years. Along the way there have been many challenges. Like many businesses, the words “virus” and “pandemic” were not what we expected to be talking about. Undoubtedly, 2020 was a challenging year and like everyone else, we have had to learn and adapt very quickly to ensure the safety of our staff, customers and suppliers. With the incredible hard work from the team at Henshaws, we closed for only a short time before we were back open with new Covid19 procedures firmly in place to support our customers and help them to continue to trade. We have delivered roofing and building products to a number of key projects in the Manchester area including emergency roofing work at Trafford General Hospital which ensured a ward was re-opened within 48 hrs of being closed due to a serious roof leak. Our intention is to continue monitoring government and construction industry advice to ensure we all stay safe in these challenging times. Thanks goes to our staff, customers and suppliers for working so well with us in these unprecedented times.
Henshaws Roofing & Building Supplies Ltd are proud to announce that we became members of the Builders Merchant Federation (BMF) in July 2020. The BMF are the UK’s No 1 trade association in the building material supplies sector. Their support for merchants has been invaluable during the Covid19 crisis by liaising directly with government Ministers at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. The result is clear guidance on how and when we can open, what risk assessments are required and how we implement safe working practices. More recently the BMF have provided guidance in the lead-up to Brexit. Indeed, the BMF team remained at work late on Christmas Eve to review the Brexit agreement and send out briefing notes to members. This in turn will ensure we are best placed to guide our customers through any changes that may need to be made.
